The Mandalika, November 26, 2025 – InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) continues its commitment to developing human resources in The Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) through the implementation of the InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) program in collaboration with InJourney Airport. This year marks the third year of the program, which aims to continuously strengthen the hospitality skills of communities surrounding the destination. The training took place on 24–26 November 2025 at the VIP Deluxe area of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, joined by 29 participants from Pujut District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Participants received hospitality skills training to support tourism operations in The Mandalika.
The training was officially opened by the Head of the Tourism Office of Central Lombok Regency, Lalu Sungkul, and Vice President Operations & Services of The Mandalika, I Made Pari Wijaya. The event was also attended by Head of Communication & CSR of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, Angga Maruli, and Coordinator of Instructors from the Central Lombok Manpower and Transmigration Office, Irwan Santoso, as a form of multi-stakeholder support in strengthening the quality of local human resources.
PJ Vice President Corporate Secretary ITDC, Agung Dwipramana, stated that the InJourney Hospitality House program reflects ITDC’s real commitment to supporting local communities as an essential part of Mandalika’s development.
"We want to ensure that The Mandalika’s development is not only focused on infrastructure, but also on improving the capacity of local communities as tourism players. After three years, we have seen the positive impact reflected in the improved quality of service in the area,” he said.
The training was facilitated by two local trainers, Burhanudin from Tumpak Village and Malik Abdul Aziz from Kuta Village. Both trainers are graduates of the InJourney Training of Trainers (ToT) program. With strong experience in hospitality and community empowerment, they share knowledge and expertise to support the goal of creating more inclusive and sustainable economic benefits for communities around The Mandalika. Through the basic training materials, participants learned about serving with sincerity, delivering services that meet visitor needs, and building effective communication to create meaningful visitor experiences.
The participants came from various backgrounds, including students, security officers, cleaning service staff, small business owners, and housewives. This diversity shows that opportunities to improve livelihoods through tourism are open to all community groups.
“The training was carried out interactively and enthusiastically, showing ITDC’s strong commitment to creating an inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive tourism ecosystem. At the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate and a reward in the form of a Paddock visit and a tour of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. We hope they can apply the knowledge they have gained and contribute to a greater local workforce ready to take part in the growing tourism sector,” Agung concluded.
